Our Keynote Speaker is Jacob McGreevey
Jacob McGreevey was raised on a seven-acre family farm in Vancouver, WA. His mother and father had five children and when he was eight, they lost their father to an unforeseen heath condition. Obviously, it was very impactful and changed his family’s financial situation overnight, wherein they were now being raised by a single mother, with no more than a high school education, at the time. They were extremely poor and relied heavily on their community’s services programs. This life event, and the years after, fostered his passion for education, financial planning with an emphasis around generational wealth.

As Jacob was ending high school, he saw a limited future and decided to join the Marine Corps, wherein he served for 15 years, including 4 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, managed at least $136 million in government assets and then left as the Company Gunnery Sergeant of his last unit. While serving in the military, he also graduated from Portland State University - School of Business with a degree in Finance and then entered the financial industry.
Jacob’s career has been with Merrill Lynch in Pismo Beach, CA and then Morgan Stanley in Vancouver, wherein he currently manages his own practice with JP Morgan Wealth Management, as a Private Client Advisor. With his many clients throughout the Pacific Northwest, from both his previous job roles and experience in the Military, he uses his wealth of knowledge and expertise to focus on long term strategies and is also working on his Masters in Finance.
It was his mother’s faith, determination and involvement, which developed him into who he is today, as well as the care he received from his community and his experiences in the military. Jacob understands the value of a dollar, hard work and having a plan. He loves giving back to the community which once provided for him and his family, and he cares for his clients with the same regard he had for his Marines, respecting the trust they place in his guidance and always put their best interest first. Jacob’s work ethic and genuine care for his community have been driving force behind the success of his business.
Jacob and his wife reside in a farm house they restored in the northeast area, just outside of Vancouver and they have two children Benjamin (9) and Jackson (3). They are also in the process of adopting their foster child, Elizabeth (15 months old), who has been with them since birth. Their desire to foster and adopt again was placed on their hearts as they see the precious value of each and every child and they want to make a difference in their community, which has been so impactful in his life.

Our Honored Citizen is Dawn Rowe
Dawn Rowe has been teaching in public schools since 1988. She currently teaches AP Psychology and Applied Psychology at Prairie High School. She has been married to her husband, Stuart, since 1988, and she has one son, Dustin, who recently graduated from Biola with a BA in film and a Masters in New Testament theology. She has worked with youth her entire adult life, and her favorite people to be around are teens, wherein she also works with Teach 1 to Lead 1. Dawn wrote a book in 2019 called, "The Ripple Effect of Love in the Classroom." It was published in 2022, which was timely since education dramatically changed during COVID. The book gives strategies to educators on how to improve classroom and school culture. The hope is that educators will be encouraged to stick with their job of teaching. The book also explains how teachers can educate students on how to find their true identity. All of the strategies in the book can bring glory to Jesus without saying the name of Jesus. Dawn is a trailblazer, a mentor, a mother to many, and a lover of God. She lives to give God the glory.

Book reviews that might give you a better understanding of the book:
“I just love this book! If you want to get to the next level as a teacher or coach or any mentor situation with kids and teens, get this book. Imagine having the tools to usher kids into understanding their identity in Christ before they become adults! It is crucial in this hour and The Ripple Effect of Love in the Classroom is an excellent book to equip you. Even if you aren’t a Christian, all of the practical tips perfectly translate. Love will always take more work than punishment and if you’re willing and ready to care for kids' hearts and their identities you’ve got to read this one. Teaching is never just about curriculum. Coaching is never just about the sport being played. It’s more often about the emotions, the character building, dealing with harsh attitudes of broken people, growing in trust, and so much more. This book tackles that and I’m really thankful I’ve got this one in my back pocket. It’s going to be a yearly read for me and I’ve already recommended it to so many others who want to see the next generation thrive and soar.”
“Although directed towards teachers, Dawn’s book is full of inspiring true-life stories and strategies that have value for anyone desiring to live a God-honoring life. Many times I found myself pausing and rereading sentences because they were so instructive. I agree with another reviewer who indicated Chapter 1 was something they kept rereading. I did the same. However, I was also convicted by the strategy related to her teaching on economics, that is, abundance versus scarcity. Wow! In a nutshell, all of the strategies and stories in this book relate back to the overarching theme of what can happen if we walk in our God-given identity. Powerful!”
